About Us

Our Story
Bharaari is born from a simple, profound belief: Healing is a courageous return to oneself.
It is the soft unravelling of a story that became stuck, and the gentle gathering of a new one. Here, we rediscover the power to release what no longer belongs with us, and to embrace what aligns with our becoming.
We firmly believe that healing is rooted in ownership of voice, of choice, and of the full human experience. The good, the bad, and the uncomfortable. Nothing is rushed, dismissed, or polished away. What is owned can be understood. What is understood can be held differently. And what is held differently can be changed, released, or carried forward with intention.
At Bharaari, we bring your lived wisdom and our steady therapeutic presence together, shaping a space where new templates can emerge and new stories can be written one brave step at a time. This is a place to slow down, feel held, and come back home to yourself while continuing to make meaningful strides forward.
We are all players in the oldest and most unforgiving game of being human: Snakes and Ladders.
The dizzying climb up a ladder of joy. The heart plummeting slide down a snake of sorrow. Some of us learned the rules in rooms that were too quiet, or in worlds that were too loud. Healing is not about avoiding the snakes or the slides. It is about learning to move through them with awareness, compassion, and choice, and knowing you can always return to yourself, no matter where you land.
Bharaari is the choice to keep moving through the snakes, ladders, and slides of life with courage, clarity, and an unshakable commitment to becoming. It is a reminder to the inner child that a slide down can sometimes be a scream of delight, not just a fall.

About the Therapist
Hi, I’m Durga Manjrekar, a qualified Mental Health Counsellor and Play Therapist. My education, work experience and ongoing training meet international professional standards, with previously held and ongoing eligibility for registration with the ACA, PACFA, and APTA.
For over five years, I’ve worked internationally as a Child and Family Therapist across government and non-profit organisations in Australia, supporting children, adolescents, and families who have experienced or are at risk of harm, abuse, neglect, and complex trauma.
Across all settings, my practice centers on safety, trust, and genuine connections. I believe every child deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, respected, and understood. Families deserve compassionate, collaborative support to unpack inherited patterns and unrealistic expectations, creating empowerment and contentment.
My experience spans educational, clinical, and community settings, including work with:
-
Children and adolescents with high-needs or high-risk behaviours
-
Young people in out-of-home care (residential and foster care)
-
Families navigating domestic and family violence, substance use, homelessness, neglect, or sexual abuse
-
Children presenting with sexualised behaviours and complex trauma histories
-
LGBTQIA+ young people, First Nations children and families, and culturally diverse communities
-
Neurodivergent children and teens, including ADHD, Autism, PDA, and sensory profiles
My work is guided by a deep commitment to inclusivity, integrity, social justice, and responsibility.

So, what happens in this space?
We sit with, and at times live through, the ‘yuck’ moments. We don’t run from it. We give it a name, and we listen to its story. Because you are, and always have been, the expert of your own life. My role is not to hold the map but to hold the light steady while you trace your own finger along the paths you’ve walked.
Bharaari is a journey deeply informed by the wisdom found in two spaces: the therapy room and the innate resilience of your child's inner world. It is a space built by everyone who contributes to it, learns within it, and rises from it. Here, we don’t just heal; we evolve, embracing the transformative flow of our own stories.
In my practice, people lead with their natural creativity, curiosity, and inner wisdom; I follow with evidence-based therapeutic approaches that help them regulate, express, heal, and grow
